Eastern Tent Caterpillar Control

Eastern Tent Caterpillars
Eastern Tent Caterpillars

Eastern Tent Caterpillars can severely defoliate a tree. Their webs are clearly visible in the Spring. Look for nests or tents in the forks and crotches of trees.

In addition to defoliation which can eventually kill a tree, damage by Eastern Tent Caterpillar can weaken a tree making it more susceptible to invasion by secondary insects and diseases.

If you spot Eastern Tent Caterpillars in your trees, tree service may be needed. Control is most critical early in the season.

Contact Giroud Tree and Lawn and your Giroud ISA Certified Arborist will inspect the trees and determine if further action is required.
